Arda Turan has declared Barcelona as the ‘best team in the world’ after his treble saw them topple Borussia Monchengladbach 4-0 at the Camp Nou.
The Turkish midfielder netted a 17-minute hat-trick as an understrength Blaugrana breezed to victory over the German side in their last group stage match to win the group.
"We are Barça – we are the best team in the world," Turan proudly declared to UEFA.com after the match.
“We try always to put in the best possible performance. We haven't had the best results over the last few weeks so we tried to remedy that. And we are really happy with how that turned out."
"We have good spirit in the group and I'd like to say: 'Thank you, Paco, for the assist!' Honestly, I'd truly like Paco to score more goals than me this season, if that's possible.
“We all work for the team, so if we win we are happy. Who gets the goals is not important to us. We just want to be in contention on the last day of the season for the title, the Champions League and all the other trophies."
