Andone revels in Depor win

Deportivo La Coruna striker Florin Andone had thought 'football had turned it's back on us despite our good play' in recent weeks.

Monday night's 5-1 demolition of high-flying Real Sociedad was only Depor's second win in 13 league matches and was enough to lift them out of the relegation zone.

"We had a bad time recently where we were not winning so the three points is the most important thing," said the Romanian striker – who netted two goals – after the match at the Riazor.

"Tonight we were united and deserved to win, we thought football had turned it's back on us recently despite our performances and efforts so that was important.

"In all honesty we have deserved a victory like this for a while so it was great to see the hard work finally paying off."

The Galicians are now 16th in the table while La Real stay 6th, having missed the chance to break into the top four.
