Cadiz make Chapecoense invitation

Cadiz will invite Brazilian club Chapecoense to the 2017 Trofeo Ramon de Carranza with all proceeds to go to the families of the plane victims.

The annual friendly tournament is staged by the Andalucian club in memory of it's former president and is among the most prestigious friendly tournaments in Spain with top clubs from the country, Italy, Portugal and Brazil regularly making appearances.

Los Gaditanos have announced in an official statement they want to show solidarity with the Brazilian side, who were involved in Tuesday's tragic plane crash in Colombia ahead of their Sudamericana final against Atletico Nacional.

They confirmed that the Brazilians would have all expenses paid for them and all ticket sales and fundraising initiatives will be directed towards them, following on from an agreement between club president Manuel Vizcaino and the city's mayor.

Vizcaino later appeared in Cadena Cope to confirm they had written to the Brazilians to express their condolensces and also they would be inviting them to next year's tournament.
