Genoa striker Giovanni Simeone has admitted he would ‘love’ to play for Atletico Madrid, who are currently managed by his father.
The 21-year-old netted twice in his side’s 3-1 victory over Juventus on Sunday and is establishing himself at the Italian side whom he joined from River Plate this summer.
"I would love to play for Atletico,” Simeone told Cadena Ser radio.
"Not just because of how the club has treated my father but because of how they have treated our whole family.
"They are a great club, very humble."
Simeone Junior confessed it was difficult to settle in Italy because the level of play was ‘much higher’ than what he had been accustomed to.
"It's difficult to adapt to Italian football. The level is much higher,” he explained.
"The speed, technique is different not just in games but in training. It's not easy. You have to concentrate every day."
