Victor Sanchez is keeping “positive” after Real Betis’ 3-1 defeat to Eibar on Friday as “playing with one man less conditioned us”.
Cristiano Piccini’s early red card meant Betis played the majority of the game with 10 men and could do little about Pedro Leon’s brace and a Sergi Enrich finish, condemning Victor to his first loss as Coach of the Andalusians.
“We started well, but playing with one man less conditioned us. We conceded the first goal and the second not long after,” he said after the match.
“At 2-0 against a team in good shape, and with one player less, it’s not easy to play.
“We tried to find solutions with one forward, two in the second half and by getting into our opponents’ box.
“Another positive is that we competed with 10 men against a team that were well-placed in the table and at a difficult venue.
“I thanked the players for competing in such difficult circumstances.”
