Enrique: Barca’s worst game

Luis Enrique admitted Barcelona’s draw with Real Sociedad was “the worst game of our era” but insisted his side would “fight” in next week’s “decisive” Clasico.

Lionel Messi rescued a point for Barca after Willian Jose had given La Real a lead deserving in the sense that they finished the game with more possession, better passing accuracy and over double the Catalans’ number of shots, leaving La Blaugrana six points behind forthcoming opponents Real Madrid.

“What happened to Barca? It was due to our opponents. They pressed us with six players and our long passing didn’t work,” the Coach said after the game.

“We didn’t even win five percent of our duels. If you can’t succeed in your duels and take advantage then there’s little you can do.

“Pique said we couldn’t win the League playing like this? I’m aware that interviews after the game are dangerous. They don’t conform to reality because a player has to be eloquent.

“To lose the League in Week 13 would seem an exaggeration to me, but we have to improve.

“We had the worst game of our era and we’ll surely be a different Barca in the Clasico.

“Did Messi end the game with a knock? There was something at the end of the game, but I know nothing about any knock.

“The Clasico? The clash [with Madrid] will be important and decisive. I’m sure that we’ll put up a fight.”
