Granada: Barral out, Cuenca in

Granada have left out the suspended David Barral from their squad to face Celta Vigo on Sunday, but Isaac Cuenca stays in.

Barral was suspended by Granada for an alleged bust-up with teammate Cuenca over lunch at training earlier in the week, the striker subsequently barred from speaking to the media.

According to fichajes.net, the Andalusians deem Barral’s decision to only apologise to Cuenca privately insufficient, with the club believing their image to have been tarnished as a result.

The former Levante man is now said to be considering legal action against Granada for imposing a media blackout on him and looks increasingly likely to move on in January.

Cuenca, meanwhile, was spared from training on Wednesday, when news of Barral’s suspension broke, but despite the winger’s role in the incident, he is available for selection against Celta.
