Casemiro set for Real return

Casemiro looks set to feature for Real Madrid against Sporting Gijon on Saturday as he returned to training following a leg fracture.

The Brazilian holding midfielder picked up the leg injury against Espanyol on 18 September but took part in full training with his teammates at Valdebebas on Wednesday and is expected to be available for selection as early as Saturday.

The news comes as a boost to Los Blancos boss Zinedine Zidane as it emerged that Gareth Bale will miss at least three weeks with an ankle injury.

“I’m really happy to back training with the squad and I’m close to a return, I just have to get some rhythm back,” Casemiro explained on Real Madrid’s club website.

“I’m really hungry to get back on the pitch and to help my teammates to keep on the track we’re on. It’s been tough, but I’m happy to be back and looking to work hard.”
