Isco ponders RM contract

Real Madrid playmaker Isco is considering whether or not to accept the offer of a new contract from the club, according to reports in Spain.

The news was reported on Monday's El Larguero programme on Cadena Ser and states that Isco – who's current contract at the Bernabeu expires in 2018 – is not debating the economic terms of the offer, but rather the role which he will play at the club.

The 24-year-old has started only eight of Los Blancos' 17 matches this campaign, despite numerous absentees, leading him to question his future at the club.

Signed from Malaga in 2013, the Spanish international has been linked with a return to the Andalucian club and reports have also linked him with a move to Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur.

He excelled in the 'number 10' role for Los Blancos in their weekend win at Atletico, but it is unclear if he will continue to be selected in the future when Karim Benzema and Alvaro Morata both return from injury.
