We need more courage – Prandelli

Cesare Prandelli has called on his Valencia team to show ‘more courage’ as he said a lack of belief cost them in Sunday’s draw with Granada.

Los Che could only register a point at home to their winless visitors with Nani’s early second half goal cancelling out Mehdi Carcela’s first half strike for the Andalucians.

“Conceding goals all the time is a problem that we need to resolve,” said Prandelli after the draw.

“The problem is not only psychological, but when you have a clear head, you have more courage

“We were at our lowest in the first half, but in the second half we began to move the ball around well and create chances.

“The players shouldn’t be thinking negatively. I am the one responsible for the team, and they shouldn’t let their heads drop.

“They need to have courage; it is the only way we will be able to grow. We have to change the horizon.

“This is a team that have problems and we have to give them the courage to overcome this difficulty. When things don’t go well, the fans put pressure on you, and rightly so.”
