Caparros ‘excited’ for Osasuna debut

Joaquin Caparros says he is “very excited” about his Osasuna debut on Monday, when his new team travel to fellow strugglers Leganes.

La Liga journeyman Caparros takes over an Osasuna side three points adrift of safety, having won just once in their first 11 games of the season, but victory over Lega would see them level with the Madrid minnows.

“I'm very excited about my debut,” the Coach said at a Press conference.

“It'll be an open and intense game between two evenly-matched teams.

“It's an important game but no more than the next, although a positive result would reinforce the work that we've begun.

“The players are very motivated, which makes sense whenever there's a change.

“The players who don't play will be more frustrated, but I've insisted that everyone has to engage because there aren't individual objectives but only collective ones, the competition is very strong and no-one is going to give anything away.

“I want an intense Osasuna that play with many of the good things they had and have, with what Enrique [Martin] worked on.

“I want to see the Osasuna that I've always seen. Each Coach must adapt to their group and their particularities, but there are many similarities in the DNA of these players with my way of thinking.

“I was told about the group and it's a spectacular one. The players are friends and it's a plus that we must capitalise on.

“The players are ready for my tactical and sporting culture. There must be a lot of balance and unity.

“The break came in handy because we trained at a high intensity, but now comes the truth, the points.

“Leganes? I'm really happy that they're here. They've been a successful team in recent years, with a lot of initiative. It's a sign that they have a great management.”
