Prandelli: Granada a must-win

Cesare Prandelli admits Sunday’s match against Granada in La Liga is a must-win and “like a final” for Valencia.

Valencia are winless in three matches and just a point clear of the relegation zone, going into their visit of Granada, who have yet to taste victory this season and are firmly rooted to the bottom.

“It’s a match that we somehow have to win,” the Coach said at a Press conference.

“The team are working well and have improved physically, but this game is like a final.

“It’s not a matter of how many forwards we’ll play, but their positions and the way they attack.

“[Granada] are well organised and quick on the break, so we have to play quickly and intensely. We must attack with many players.

“The return of Gaya? When you have all your players, things are easier. It’s a very delicate game and the one to believe in what we’re doing. It’ll give us a fair idea of where we are.

“We must convey enthusiasm and the fans will be with us. The pressure [of winning] is a stimulus for growth.

“We must attack with more players, be more aggressive when breaking and move the ball much quicker. The team’s performance is important, but so is individual quality.

“Against Celta we had five or six chances, but we must create more.

“January? At the moment, we’re just thinking about winning. They’re just market rumours and we haven’t talked about players.

“It’s something that we don’t need to address yet. Our complete focus is on the match.”
