Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone admits “you never know” in response to a question about one day returning to Inter.
Simeone has been frequently linked with the role of Inter Coach after spending four years at the club as a player between 1997 and 2001.
The Argentine also recently wound down his Atleti contract to 2018, which coincides with the expiry date of the deal signed by new Nerazzurri boss Stefano Pioli.
“Inter? You never know,” he smiled to Telelombardia while on a getaway in Milan.
Simeone, who has experience of managing in Serie A with Catania in 2011, is reported by AS to have “a great relationship and excellent friendship” with Javier Zanetti, formerly the 46-year-old’s Inter teammate and now their Vice-President.
Furthermore, his son Giovanni plays for Italian club Genoa.
