Tebas ‘hurt’ by Barca feud

La Liga chief Javier Tebas has admitted he is 'hurt' and 'bothered' by his ongoing spat with Barcelona, which shows no sign of stopping.

Barca players recently boycotted the Premios Marca awards ceremony where Tebas controversially given the Puerta-Jarque 'Fair Play' award, with the Catalan club's relationship with the president deterioriating over comments he made in the aftermath of their win at Valencia.

Tebas had called the Barca player's antics 'embarrassing', accusing them of provoking home fans and 'falling like bowling pins'.

"I'm very sorry about what's happening to me. It doesn't feel comfortable, but I'm not going to stop doing my job,” the 54-year-old is quoted as saying by AS.

"I'm not able to say sorry – I am not a hypocrite. It bothers me immensely and it hurts me because my will has been to fight against violence in Spanish football."
