Berizzo praises ‘hard working’ Celta

Celta Vigo boss Eduardo Berizzo has praised his side's 'hard fought victory' over a 'difficult' and 'very well organised' Valencia side.

Goals from Facundo Roncaglia and John Guidetti won the game for the Galicians after Dani Parejo's penalty had given Cesare Prandelli's team a 33rd minute lead.

"The character we showed – in believing that we could make the comeback – was why we won the match," explained the Argentine boss after the game.

"It was a hard fought victory against an opponent who are well organised and very tough to break down.

"Valencia are a strong, physical team so one of the keys to the game was for our pace to work and find space in key areas.

"The risks we took were impressive and paid off, we were missing four regulars from the game yet our performance level did not drop, I was particularly pleased with David Costas performance."

Celta's victory moves them up to 8th in the standings, while Valencia stay 15th.
