‘Las Palmas capable of anything’

Jose Luis Mendilibar has warned Eibar that Las Palmas “are capable of anything” ahead of Saturday’s meeting between the two sides.

Both teams enter the match at Gran Canaria on a high, Eibar having secured a last-gasp win against Villarreal last weekend, while Las Palmas successfully overturned a three-goal deficit at Celta Vigo.

“They’re capable of anything, as we saw last week,” he said at a Press conference.

“Trailing 0-3, they came back to draw and almost won. It’ll be a game that until the final whistle, we don’t know what will happen.

“They are a small team like us but play differently to the other teams. They take many risks with the ball.

“They have players that are technically good and dare to try things. I can only imagine the faith that the Coach has in them.

“Las Palmas play good football, but although they have less points than us, they play with ball more than us.

“The ‘experts’ say football is like [Las Palmas’ style], and that defending or playing it long doesn’t seem to be football.

“They really like their style of play, but when they lose the ball, they say they’ve failed, although the opponents are also involved.

“There’s no euphoria [from the win against Villarreal], neither will we go down into the basement to lose a game.

“The dynamics of the team are good, we’ve compete everywhere we’ve played. Things happen to us, but we’re able to turn games around and our opponents find it difficult to beat us.

“If we play like we can, without any fear, and are at 100 percent, we have a chance of winning.

“We’re two different teams, we both like to play in the attacking half, but with different weapons.”
