Malaga boss Juande Ramos believes strong home form will be the key to his side’s chances of success this season.
Los Boquerones have picked up ten points from their five home league games so far this season while they have only collected two points from a possible 15 on the road.
“Every game is important but especially those at home as those are better chances for us collecting points,” the former Real Madrid boss said ahead of his side hosting Sporting Gijon on Friday evening.
"If we are still in mid-table when our injuries and suspensions have cleared up, then I will consider that a success.
"Sporting are a young team who are exciting with lots of ambition, so it will be another tough assignment.”
Malaga sit in 11th while Sporting remain 18th, with no wins from their previous seven league outings.
