Sevilla saunter into last 16

Sevilla sauntered into the Champions League last 16 thanks to a resounding 4-0 victory over Dinamo Zagreb on Wednesday.

A dominant performance from the first to last whistle saw Sevilla bombard Dinamo’s goal with no less than 23 attempts from 72 percent possession and just as impressively limit the Croatians to only the three.

From that, Luciano Vietto got the rout going by punishing the visitors for their lackadaisical build-up play from the back, nicking the ball high up the pitch and finishing at Dominik Livakovic’s near post.

Dinamo came back out for the second half a man short as Petar Stojanovic saw a second yellow card just before the break, yet Sergio Escudero didn’t add to Sevilla’s lead until after an hour, the full-back coolly firing past Livakovic via a deft one-two with Vitolo.

Steven N’Zonzi then climbed highest from a corner to head home the Andalusians’ third goal, before substitute Wissam Ben Yedder blasted in Vietto’s ball across Livakovic’s goal from point-blank range as Sevilla reached the round of 16 for the first time in seven years.
