Griezmann wants to be ‘complete player’

Antoine Griezmann has explained he is trying to become a ‘complete player’ by working at all aspects in his game.

The French striker netted twice in his side’s 2-1 win over Russian side Rostov on Tuesday night and is a candidate for this year’s Ballon d’Or award.

"I try to be a complete player in attack and in defence, I want to improve each year,” the 25-year-old told reporters after the game.

“I have improved in assists, which was very important.

"I had been a few games without scoring so I really wanted to celebrate a goal.

“I wanted to score tonight, so I am happy. They are a good team, similar to us in some ways, it was about finding a gap and taking the chances.

"At the start I did not know if it was going to count or not but the referee said it was a good goal.

"But I am very happy, I am in a good moment and in a good place. Sometimes they go in and sometimes they don't."
