Prandelli: Enough about Barca!

Cesare Prandelli has called for a stop to the Barcelona controversy as Valencia are “only thinking about winning” against Deportivo La Coruna on Monday.

Prandelli’s second game as Valencia boss was a 3-2 defeat to Barca last week, which remains talked about in Spain due to the fallout generated by the bottle-throwing incident that led La Liga chief Javier Tebas to brand the Catalans “embarrassing”.

“Training open to the public? I like it a lot because many children and families turn up,” the Italian said at a Press conference.

“For me, this is football and it’s also important to understand quickly how the fans feel. I opened training to the public for this reason.

“We need time to work, unite the defence and understand that we must all defend, but this week we’ve improved a lot.

“Against Barcelona, we conceded an offside goal and the other two came from isolated situations.

“We had a great game against Barcelona, but tomorrow will be completely different. Deportivo are a very organised team.

“I don’t like controversy. It’s not football. The day after Barcelona, I was only thinking about Deportivo. That’s enough talk of Barcelona.

“We’ll go out to win. We’re think about winning the game. All data and statistics are fair and can’t be disputed, but tomorrow’s game is new. Our mentality is doing everything to win.”
