‘Las Palmas one of the best’

Eduardo Berizzo believes Celta Vigo will be playing “one of the best footballing teams in the division” when they clash with Las Palmas on Sunday.

Celta have won four for their last five games in La Liga after taking just one point from a possible 12, but they lie just a place above Las Palmas, who are in just their second season since returning to the top flight.

“We’ll be playing against a team that move the ball very well at a good place to play, so tomorrow we must turn be on full alert,” the Coach said at a Press conference.

“We’re expecting a tough game against a team that play very good football, with quick players, mobility and very good technique.

“Las Palmas will ask us to be very tight defensively and impose our game when we have the ball.

“It’ll be important to deprive them of the ball so they can’t exploit the best quality they have, which for me is their movement of the ball in midfield to the forwards.

“We’ll be facing one of the best footballing teams in the division. [Quique Setien] is a Coach whose teams try to play football.

“He’s a prestigious Coach, he’s managed to get his teams playing the football he wants and for that he deserves a lot of credit, especially because it holds up over time and against any opponent.

“Las Palmas are a distinguishable team for what their Coach proposes.

“Our improvement? We’ve stood firm on the idea that we transmit. We’ve continued to believe in what we’re doing and from there we got back on track.”
