Celta Vigo coach Eduardo Berizzo admitted that such a big Galician derby victory flattered his side and was harsh on Deportivo.
Os Celestes won the game 4-1, but the turning point was a Celta penalty on the hour mark with the game tied at 1-1, with Depor defender Sidnei shown a red card for handball before the hosts converted the penalty.
"It was a great day, the result is not reflective in terms of the goals of each team but we played very well," said Berizzo.
"This was a hard-fought victory and it's the result of 25 players, not just 11, because all of the squad pulled together for this and prepared every inch of training for this clash – our locker room spirit helped us to victory.
"The penalty was the turning point and allowed the score to be bulked up, I think Sidnei's hand blocked a goal but other than that I cannot say."
