Cancelo ‘happy at Valencia’

Valencia full-back Joao Cancelo has confirmed he is happy at the club but he does not know where his future lies amid transfer speculation.

The Portuguese international has been linked to Atletico Madrid, Barcelona and Manchester United in recent weeks after impressing for both club and country this season, but is under contract at the Mestalla until 2021.

"I feel good. I don't know where my future will be but I'm very comfortable at Valencia," the 22-year-old told Super Deporte.

"Things are going well for me but I have to continue to work because things can change from one day to the next."

"Life is about learning and we have to continue to work hard to turn things around.

“The important thing is to be a unit, to have an identity and we are slowly acquiring that. We have to work so that the teams fear us."

Valencia take on Barca – one of the club’s linked with a possible move for Cancelo – on Saturday and the right-back believes his side can get another great result against the Catalans.

"It's a special game," he continued.

"Barcelona have the best players in the world and we will need to be very focused. It's a difficult game but it's not an impossible one to win.

"Last season we arrived to the Camp Nou at a difficult time and we won. We can't wait for the game to start. I hope I can help the team and if I score, it would be fantastic."
