Ter Stegen backs Bravo

Barcelona goalkeeper Marc-Andre Ter Stegen has come to the defence of former team-mate and Manchester City counterpart Claudio Bravo.

Bravo was sent-off in the 53rd minute of the side’s clash at Camp Nou after handling the ball outside the area, but the German goalkeeper responded that mistakes were natural and he would bounce back.

"Bravo and I talked about other things, but in the end these are things that happen – that's life for the goalkeeper," Marca reported Ter Stegen as saying.

"This happens sometimes but [in the long term there is] no problems for him or for his team.

"Until the red card we had problems. At first it was a very difficult match, but we were finally able to make a lot of goals. For us it was very good."
