Prandelli liked Valencia spirit

New Valencia boss Cesare Prandelli praised the spirit and intensity of his side in their win at Sporting Gijon on Sunday.

The Italian’s first game in charge of his new side saw two goals from loanee Mario Suarez win a vital three points at El Molinon.

"I liked the spirit shown by the players," Prandelli explained after the match.

"Right now, I'm only thinking of improving the team and trying to give this group an identity, temperament and personality."

"We played with a lot of intensity on a very difficult pitch against a well-organised opponent,"

"It has been a very level game. I'm very happy but we have a lot of work to do. But the three points give us morale to continue to work and improve. It was important for us to find balance."

"What I liked the most was the union, the will to do good things and the spirit of wanting to work that the group showed."
