Neymar: Messi’s fitness ‘perfect’

Neymar has described Lionel Messi’s fitness as ‘perfect’ following his recovery from a second groin injury of the season.

Messi missed out on Argentina’s fixtures over the international break due to the injury he sustained against Atletico Madrid last month, but the Brazilian forward has eased fears about his partner’s availability.

"Leo is OK, his (fitness) is perfect," Neymar said at an event for Panasonic on Thursday.

"Whether all three of us (Messi, Neymar and Luis Suarez) play against Deportivo depends on the manager.

"We know we are making history and together we're stronger. The magic of the trident is the friendship. We are friends on and off the pitch. We help each other."

Neymar is the least likely of the three to sit out the game against Depor as his midweek international suspension against Venezuela allowed him to return to club football early, while Messi is still recovering from another groin injury and Suarez only returned on Thursday night from Uruguay duty.

The Brazilian believes that whilst they all want to play every game,  rotations are inevitable and benefit everyone.

"You have to accept rotations," continued the 24-year-old.

"The manager always speaks with us and we know there are a lot of games until the end of the season and everyone wants to be at their best at the end of the campaign.

"We're all aware of the matter, it's for our own good, so we have to accept it."
