Bale set for 6-year RM deal

Gareth Bale is set to sign a new deal at Real Madrid to keep him at the Bernabeu until 2022, according to Spanish reports.

Cadena Ser has reported that the Welshman has already agreed a deal with Los Blancos to extend his deal in the Spanish capital for a further three years and an official announcement from the club is imminent.

The 27-year-old became the world's most expensive player in 2013 when he joined Madrid from Tottenham Hotspur (a title he lost this summer to Paul Pogba) and Bale's new deal will set his release clause as €500m.

The forward is in a rich vein of form with three goals in six LaLiga appearances this season after helping propel his country to the semi-finals of the European Championships.
