The first El Clasico of the season between Barcelona and Real Madrid at Camp Nou has been confirmed for Saturday 3rd December, 3.15pm (GMT).

The scheduling of the match means that it cannot be shown live in the United Kingdom due to a long-standing rule agreed between the FA, Premier League and Football League that prohibits live football from being televised in the country between 2.45pm and 5.15pm (GMT) on Saturday afternoons.

The match will be available to watch live in over 100 countries worldwide and it is a time slot which is increasingly being utilised by La Liga for showing Barcelona, Real Madrid or Atletico as the league attempts to eat into the English Premier League's – who show only games not selected for television at this time – share of the global market.

"With these kick off times we have more than doubled our income," La Liga president Javier Tebas declared when questioned about the specific time slot.
