Monchi, Berta linked to Roma

The sporting directors of Sevilla and Atletico Madrid have been linked to a move to Serie A side AS Roma following the expected departure of Walter Sabatini.

Monchi (Sevilla) and Andrea Berta (Atletico) are among the names that have been mentioned following Sabatini's absence from Roma's weekend win over Inter, which has fuelled talk that he is leaving his role at the club.

Monchi and Berta are among the most revered sporting directors in world football and both have a reputation for consistently signing players relatively cheaping before selling them on for huge fees whilst maintaining success and trophies at their clubs.

Monchi – who's real name is Ramon Rodriguez Verdejo – has unearthed gems such as Dani Alves, Ivan Rakitic, Carlos Bacca, Kevin Gameiro, Ever Banega and Gregorz Krychowiak for the Andalucians, before selling them on for huge profits while Berta has a similar track record at Atletico Madrid.
