Former Real Madrid midfielder Christian Karembeu has lent his support to Zinedine Zidane following four consecutive draws for the club.

Karembeu – a former French international teammate of Zidane – played for Madrid for three seasons between 1997 and 2000, and has called for calm amongst those who may be beginning to question the manager's attributes, pointing to last season's Champions League title and 16-game winning run in the league which preceded the draws.

"I understand the situation Zinedine Zidane is facing," Karembeu, now a Strategic Adviser of Greek champions Olympiacos, told reporters at a LaLiga Ambassadors conference.

"But last season, he won a historic 11th Champions League title with Real Madrid.

"He has done very well and the results speak for themselves.

"It is still early in the season and despite four consecutive draws, Real should not panic, but then again this is Real Madrid!"

Real Madrid have recently drawn with Villarreal, Las Palmas, Borussia Dortmund and Eibar.
