Everton want N’Zonzi – reports

Everton are reportedly considering a move for Sevilla midfielder Steven N'Zonzi and have already sent scouts to watch him recently.

N'Zonzi spent six seasons in England – playing for Blackburn Rovers and Stoke City – before moving to Estadio Sanchez Pizjuan last summer and whilst Sevilla have no interest in selling the French midfielder, his release clause of 30 million euros makes him a target for the cash-rich English Premier League clubs.

The 27-year-old's contract in Andalucia runs until 2019 and he is reportedly happy at the club, but new Everton sporting director Steve Walsh has been a long-term admirer of the powerful midfielder and tried to hijack his move to Spain last summer whilst he was at Leicester City, but the move never materialised.

Estadio Deportivo report that Everton have sent scounts to recent Sevilla matches including the derby against Real Betis to track N'Zonzi's progress and they now also state that Sevilla sporting director Monchi is making his contract extension at the club a priority, following the recently agreed deal with Vicente Iborra.

The latest revelations of Everton's interest follow reports in the Sunday People and the Daily Mirror in England that Ronald Koeman's side had been lining up a move.
