Legia-Madrid behind closed doors

Real Madrid's Champions League match away to Legia Warsaw will be played behind closed doors following UEFA sanctions for the Polish champions.

The stadium will be closed to the public and Legia will have to pay a fine of 80,000 euros following incidents involving their fans at their recent home tie with Borussia Dortmund, which they lost 6-0.

The match will be played on Wednesday 2nd November, a fortnight on from the reverse fixture at the Bernabeu.

Legia's offences include using pepper spray on police officers during the clash with Dortmund alongside other cases of violence and racism.

The Polish club have lost both of their opening group games without scoring a goal, and went down to a 2-0 defeat away to Sporting CP on Tuesday night, it is their first appearance in the group stages of the Champions League in over two decades.

Officials at Legia Warsaw have confirmed that they will appeal the decision.
