Neymar sues court for leaks

Neymar is to sue a Brazilian court for leaking information to local media regarding his tax evasion case, it is reported.

The Barcelona start filed the complaint in May earlier this year after it had been revealed two months earlier that he had been ordered to pay back just shy of 46 million euros in back-taxes and fines relating to his 2013 move from Santos to the Catalan club.

The judge working on the case believes there is sufficient evidence to suggest that the Brazilian media obtained sensitive and important evidence to the case prematurely, and documents available online state that the court now have 15 days to release the information of those who had access to the relevant details surrounding the case.

Neymar is now seeking compensation and wishes for the court to adopt 'effective measures' both in preventing further leaks and also by punishing those responsible.

The star had 42 million euros of assets frozen last year due to unpaid taxes on the transfer and last week the case against Neymar, his father, Sandro Rossell and Barcelona was re-opened.
