‘Madrid must win every game’

Alvaro Morata admits Real Madrid’s dropped points at Las Palmas “were needed to win La Liga” as his side “must now win all our remaining matches”.

Sergio Araujo’s late equaliser on Sunday earned Las Palmas a 2-2 draw and deprived Madrid of a victory for the second straight game, and Morata made it clear Los Blancos could not afford any more poor results, despite it being so early in the season.

“They were two points needed to win the League,” he said after the game.

“We should’ve won, but we were unable to. Now we’ll continue working and give everything.

“[Las Palmas’ equaliser] was difficult to explain, it was something in the game.

“We drew and now we’ll analyse it, but what’s true is that we must always give everything to win the League.

“We haven’t lost yet, we mustn’t do dramas but instead keep going. The most important thing is the end [of the season].

“We must now win all our remaining matches and keep working. Now the Champions League is in our heads, but it’s true that we must improve on many things.

“I want to be compatible with everyone and play. Whenever I do, I give everything.”
