Isco loan move collapsed – reports

Real Madrid's Isco came close to leaving the club this summer, but proposed loan moves away collapsed late in the transfer window.

A report in El Confidencial has claimed that both Malaga and Tottenham Hotspur had provisionally lined-up loan moves for the playmaker at the end of August, but the moves broke down for various reasons.

A return to Malaga had seemed very possible when it emerged that Ignacio Camacho had agreed terms to move to Premier League side West Bromwich Albion, with the potential funds from that transfer being directed towards a season-long loan deal for Isco.

However, Camacho's move to England collapsed at the eleventh hour as the club's could not agree on a fee, meaning Malaga had no room in their squad for the player who has made over 150 appearances in his three years at the Bernabeu.

Tottenham Hotspur had also appeared ready to pounce for Isco on a similar loan deal and the report suggests that the two clubs had everything in place to finalise the move, which broke down 'very quickly' due to the player's wage demands with Spurs reacting 'very negatively' to early negotiations.
