Pako on the brink at Valencia?

Valencia are reportedly on the verge of dismissing coach Pako Ayestaran following a fourth straight league defeat of the campaign.

The club are now actively seeking other available managers and they cannot confirm that Pako will be in charge when they host Alaves on Thursday night, report Super Deporte.

The report insists that whilst he has not yet been dismissed and will take training on Monday, it is emphasised that the situation is only 'at the moment' and could very well change.

Valencia believe the current situation is unsustainable and the longer they leave the former Liverpool assistant in charge, the more difficult things could be to reverse their fortunes.

Failing to win against Alaves would almost certainly seal his dismissal, although it is unclear if the club will act before then or not.

Legendary club striker Mario Kempes was the latest to hit out at how the club was managed, blasting them for 'lacking ideas'.

Valencia have lost home games against Las Palmas and Real Betis, while losing both away ties at Eibar and Athletic Bilbao.
