Berizzo: No Celta pressure

Eduardo Berizzo insists Celta Vigo go into their match against Osasuna unfazed. “There’s no greater pressure than the one we put ourselves under…”

Celta head into the fourth week of La Liga rock bottom and with no points after their opening three games against Leganes, Real Madrid and Atletico, but Berizzo insists his side are no different in their approach to the end of last season, when they secured Europa League qualification.

“The season has just started and the haste isn’t good,” the Coach said at a Press conference.

“We have three points less than we imagined, from the home game against Leganes.

“The other two games [against Madrid and Atleti] were lost by the way of mathematics, and not preparation or desire.

“It’s true that we’re not like how we ended [last season], but our ideas remain the same.

“There’s no greater pressure than the one we put ourselves under, and we always put ourselves under great pressure, so nothing has changed in our intentions.

“We’ll go to Pamplona to have a very good game and win.

“We won’t make decisions based on our results. We all need to pick up points, but in order to do so, you must solidify your idea of playing.

“It’s very easy to get on a boat downwind, but the ship is only stabilised when we’re together, up against the wind. That’s the true value of a team.”
