Laudrup slams ‘provocative’ Neymar

Former Barcelona star Michael Laudrup slammed Neymar for being “provocative” in the Catalans’ 5-1 win against Leganes on Saturday.

Laudrup was a key component in Johan Cruyff’s Barca ‘Dream Team’ between 1989 and 1994, yet no loyalty to the club was detected in his commentary for BeIN Sports as he accused Neymar of inciting Leganes players to react once his former side were 4-0 up.

“Why step on the ball and walk across the pitch? To provoke them,” he said.

“Pass the ball and go somewhere else! At 0-4 you can’t be stepping on the ball and provoking your opponents.”

The Dane was also criticised by Blaugrana fans on social media for not “making a single compliment” about the team, AS reports.
