‘Premature’ Las Palmas written off

Juande Ramos insists “it’s too early to call Las Palmas a surprise package” ahead of Malaga’s match against the islanders in La Liga on Saturday.

Las Palmas have picked up from where they left off last season, winning two of their first three games for 2016-17 to position fourth in the table – in stark contrast to Malaga, who travel to Gran Canaria still winless – but Ramos found any praise of his side’s upcoming opponents premature.

“It’s too early to call them a surprise package,” the Coach said at a Press conference.

“There’s not been enough time to draw definitive conclusions and a few more games must pass for the teams to settle, although Las Palmas have had good results and it’s a shame that the game against Sevilla escaped them.

“We want to get the three points so that the situation normalises itself. The competition is more serious, so it’s more difficult to win games.

“Malaga are the team that receive the least number of shots on goal after Real Madrid, Atletico and Barcelona, but mistakes have cost us points and matches.”
