Leganes only thinking of victory

Leganes boss Asier Garitano insists his side are only thinking of victory ahead of their clash with Barcelona on Saturday.

Despite going into the match as massive underdogs, the Madrid-based club would remarkably go above the Catalan giants if they were to pull off a shock victory at Estadio Muncipal de Butarque.

However, Garitano believes that Barca's defeat at home to Alaves, another newly promoted club, last weekend was bad for his team's prospects in this clash.

"If Alaves had not won that game, it would have been easier for us to surprise them," said the 46-year-old.

"But equally, that result in Camp Nou shows that anything is possible in football – of course we have a chance.

"We are in the same league as Barcelona and the other 19 teams, we have to remember that.

"We go into each match with a gameplan, we do not think about the clubs and the differences in size.

"We convince the players that we can win. We have to convince the fans too. But they all believe, and that's important."

Leganes have started the season impressively – winning away in Celta Vigo before holding Atletico Madrid, eventually losing their first ever top-flight match last weekend 2-1 at Sporting Gijon.
