QSF: Espanyol have ‘losing mentality’

Quique Sanchez Flores has revealed his first target as Espanyol manager is to rid the club of it's 'losing mentality'.

Sanchez Flores joined the Catalans in the summer after a spell at Premier League side Watford and he believes that changing the mentality around the club is his number one priority whilst speaking to Cadena Cope's El Partidazo show.

"Espanyol has a withdrawn mentality, which is associated with losing…we must work every day to change that," said the 51-year-old.

"We look regularly at players coming in, who wants to play for us and who wants to move on, hence why there were a lot of changes this summer."

Sanchez Flores also did not rule out managing Spain 'in the future' and stated that LaLiga was 'improving' and was at the level of the English Premier League.

His side host Real Madrid on Sunday night as his side search for their first win of the season, after winning two points from their opening three games.
