Laudrup question’s Barca squad

Michael Laudrup has questioned Barcelona's squad in the wake of their recent league defeat to newly promoted Alaves.

Laudrup, who previously played for both Barcelona and Real Madrid, said that he does not see a weakness in Zinedine Zidane's squad but that Barca 'have problems' if they cannot win at home to Alaves without Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez starting.

"If you cannot beat Alaves without Messi or Suarez starting, then you have a problem," the former Danish international told Cadena Cope programme Tiempo de Juego.

"Real Madrid have a very good squad, I do not see a weakness and they are in a strong shape for two years at least."

The 52-year-old was also asked about the debate between Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi, but he remained diplomatic.

"They are the best players of the past seven years – Ronaldo is a complete player who has everything, while Messi is pure talent."

Formerly a coach of Getafe and Real Mallorca, Laudrup is now a pundit for beIN Sports.
