Marc-Andre ter Stegen will miss Barcelona’s visit of Alaves in La Liga this evening, paving the way for Jasper Cillessen to make his debut.
Ter Stegen pulled up with a minor hamstring injury in training on Friday, which also risks his participation against Celtic and Leganes next week.
The goalkeeper joins Jeremy Mathieu, Andre Gomes and Andres Iniesta on the treatment table for the Catalans, who are also expected to rest Luis Suarez.
Mundo Deportivo reported it would be one of Suarez and Lionel Messi to make way, and Luis Enrique seems set on the Uruguayan as another new boy Paco Alcacer is waiting in the wings.
Elsewhere, Neymar will return on the left wing, Aleix Vidal and Lucas Digne are tipped to come into the full-back positions and Rafinha is likely preferred to Denis Suarez in Iniesta’s absence.
