Zidane blasts ‘absurd’ transfer ban

Zinedine Zidane has described Real Madrid's transfer ban as 'absurd' and confirmed the club will continue to appeal.

Zidane was reacting to the news that the appeals of both his club and city rivals Atletico to revoke their ban on signing players until January 2018 had been rejected.

"I do not understand it and it annoys me," said the 44-year-old.

"It is absurd – the club want to change it quickly and I hope it is changed!

"My kids were born here and have spent their whole lives here, so why should they not be able to play football? It's absurd."

The manager did say that despite the ban, he was happy with the club's summer transfer window and the size of his squad.

"I am very happy with the squad we have, it's a big squad with 24 first-team players," he confirmed.

It now appears likely that the club will appeal again to the Court of Arbirtration for Sport.
