Rayo Vallecano’s President has controversially accused former Villarreal boss Marcelino of being “like that crazy Lufthansa pilot who crashed a plane”.
Villarreal chief Fernando Roig hinted on Friday he sacked Marcelino due to the Coach’s “dishonesty” in admitting before the Yellow Submarine’s game against Sporting on the final day of last season that he wanted the latter to stay up.
Sporting went on to secure the win they needed, in turn relegating Rayo, whose 3-1 victory over Levante counted for nothing.
“Marcelino García Toral is like that crazy Lufthansa pilot who crashed a plane,” Raul Martin Presa told Punto Pelota.
