Valencia President ‘disappointed’ with Alcacer

Valencia President Chan Lay Hoon has spoken of his 'disappointment' at Paco Alcacer's decision to join Barcelona.

Alcacer moved to Barcelona with one day remaining of the transfer window on a five-year deal worth 30 million euros, but the Valencia President insists that the club only sold the player at his personal request.

"He insisted to use that we accept the offer from Barcelona," admitted the President.

"He was a very important player to us – an icon, it did not make sense to us as to why he wanted to leave.

"Whenever he told us of his decision we were hugely disappointed, not angry because we see him as our child because of his background and what he represents."

Lay Hoon said the decision was the 'most difficult' of the entire summer because of 'how our fans felt' about the player.
