Neville: Valencia fans angriest I’ve seen

Former Valencia manager Gary Neville has described the club's fans as 'the angriest I've seen', referencing their 7-0 defeat to Barcelona last season.

Neville's ill-fated spell at the Mestalla came to an end in March this year, less than two months after the seven-goal defeat the Camp Nou in the Copa Del Rey.

"It's known to be a hostile environment in which to manage, but I've never seen football fans as angry as that," said the 41-year-old former Manchester United defender on the BBC's 'Class of 92' documentary.

"In England we think we have passionate fans – and we do – but I have never seen fans like that after a game."

The former full-back then took to twitter to clarify his comments.

'Context is everything. I said it's the angriest I've ever seen fans. It wasn't a constant. It was a moment.' Neville went on to state that the fans 'had every right to be angry' after the match.

"This club has had 15 managers in 13 years," Neville continued on the documentary.

"The people have passion and the fans are either here (points very high) or way down here (points low)."
