Valencia looking to Mangala, Garay

It is reported that Valencia are looking at Eliaquim Mangala as a replacement for Shkodran Mustafi.

The Manchester City centre-back is out of favour with new Etihad boss Pep Guardiola and has been told he can leave the Premier League side on loan.

His former club Porto had been the favourites to secure his temporary services, but Marca report that Los Che have made an eleventh hour offer.

According to the Spanish daily, Valencia sporting director Jesus Garcia Pitarch has held talks in Madrid with the 25-year-old’s agent, Jorge Mendes, over a possible deal.

It is reportedly the second consecutive summer window that the Blanquinegros have been keen to take the French international on loan.

Elsewhere, the club’s attempts to bring in another defender, Ezequiel Garay, are said to be at a very advanced stage. The 30-year-old appears set to arrive from Russian side Zenit St Petersburg on deadline day.

Germany international Mustafi left the Mestalla on Tuesday to seal a transfer to Arsenal, leaving Pako Ayesteran’s backline in need of reinforcements.
