‘Sevilla squad may have changes…’

Sevilla President Jose Castro admits the squad ‘may have changes’ before the transfer window closes on August 31.

Castro spoke to reporters after the traditional offering to the Virgen de los Reyes and was asked about Jorge Sampaoli and a number of players currently part of his squad at Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan.

“He’s achieved a lot of success in South America. It’ll take patience that the President and the board will certainly give. We’re working to have the players he requires. Don’t forget, in the game against Espanyol, it’s 40 years since we scored six goals. That’s true, but we can improve at the back,” Castro said, AS reports.

“We are looking for other positions to help. There may be changes by August 31. Vicente Iborra? We have a significant offer for him. We don’t know if we’re accepting it or not.

Yevhen Konoplyanka? There’s nothing. The policy of the club is to study all offers that arrive. We’ve sold Kevin Gameiro and Grzegorz Kychowiak for exorbitant sums.

“Roque Mesa? I can’t say yes or no. For now it’s true he’s not an option. Three signings? I don’t think it’ll be that many…”
