Alcacer ‘asks Valencia for Barca’

Paco Alcacer reportedly asked Valencia to let him join Barcelona and the move is said to be close to going through.

Publications in both Catalonia and Valencia report Alcacer’s request to President Layhoon Chan on Wednesday, Mundo Deportivo and Super Deporte among them.

It’s said Alcacer asked Chan personally to be allowed to leave and previous reports have said Barca and the Spain international have already agreed a contract.

Past claims also say Valencia owner Peter Lim had given Barca the go-ahead to sign Alcacer but other senior figures at Mestalla – including Chan and sporting director Jesus Garcia Pitarch – were resisting the operation.

Super Deporte say Barca are offering €30m and it is possible Munir El Haddadi could be included in the deal, though he has also been linked with a move to Celta Vigo.
